OUR HAY
Our hay is a grass mix consisting of fescue, brome, orchard & rye grasses, with a small percentage of alfalfa. We do also offer a mix with a higher alfalfa content. Our hay fields are irrigated from April/May through September by water from the Kootenay River.
The fields were re-seeded in succession from 2013 to 2015, so the growth and health of the hay stand is at its prime. We usually take our first cutting of hay in late June/early July, and our second cutting near the end of August or beginning of September. The hay we offer for sale is always baled dry and makes for excellent horse feed.
LARGE-ROUND BALES
We offer large-round bales only, they weigh approximately 1300-1400lbs each.
2024—First Cut $220/bale
2024—Second Cut $240/bale

QUALITY ASSURANCE
We do occasionally have hay that gets rain or is of less quality, which we use to feed our cattle in the winter months, or sell as cattle feed at a discounted rate. We use a John Deere baler with JD CoverEdge netwrap, and our hay is stored in a shed.
